Are you looking to add some dynamic flair to your Wix Studio website? In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through how to easily add a scrolling text, also known as marquee text, to your website. This new feature from Wix is not only visually appealing but also highly functional for boosting conversions. Whether you’re running an online store or a portfolio site, scrolling text can be a great way to highlight key messages, promotions, or announcements. Let's dive in!

Why Use Scrolling Text?

Scrolling text is a simple yet effective way to draw attention to important information on your website. It’s perfect for displaying promotional messages, announcements, or any other content you want your visitors to notice immediately. Additionally, this feature allows you to add a link, so users can easily navigate to a specific section of your website or an external link when they click on the scrolling text.

Step 1: Access the Text Marquee Feature

To start, open your Wix Studio website editor. Navigate to the section where you’d like to add the scrolling text.

  1. Add a New Section: Click on the "+" icon to add a new section to your page.

  2. Access Text Elements: Once the section is added, go to the "Add Elements" menu and select "Text."

  3. Select Text Marquee: You’ll notice a new tab called "Text Marquee." Click on it to explore the various options for scrolling text.

Step 2: Customize Your Scrolling Text

After dragging and dropping your chosen text marquee option into the section, you can start customizing it to fit your brand and message.

  1. Edit the Text: Click on the text to change what it says. For example, you might enter something like "Free Shipping on Orders of Two or More Items!"

  2. Add a Link: Click on the link icon to add a link to the text. You can link to a specific page on your website, a section within a page, or even an external URL.

Step 3: Adjust the Layout

Once your text is in place, you’ll need to make sure it fits well within the section.

  1. Resize the Section: If the section height is too large for your text, you can adjust it by toggling off the "Apply Max Width" setting and setting the height to "Max Content" in the advanced CSS grid settings.

  2. Design Your Text: Choose a font size that is easy to read. If your text is too large, reduce the font size so all of it is visible at once. You can also change the text color, make it bold or italic, and adjust other stylistic features to match your website’s branding.

Step 4: Add Separators and Adjust Movement

To make your scrolling text even more unique, you can add separators and adjust the scrolling speed.

  1. Add a Separator: Click on the separator option and choose a shape or symbol to separate the text items. Customize the color and size of the separator to fit your design.

  2. Set the Movement: Adjust the speed of the scrolling text using the movement settings. You can also choose the direction of the scroll, such as right-to-left or left-to-right. Enable the "Pause on Hover" option so users can stop the text to read it more easily.

Step 5: Preview and Publish

Once you’re happy with your scrolling text, preview your website to see how it looks in action. Make any necessary adjustments, and then publish your site.

Final Thoughts

Adding a scrolling text element to your Wix Studio website is a great way to enhance user engagement and draw attention to key messages. With Wix’s new text marquee feature, you have the flexibility to design a scrolling text that aligns perfectly with your site’s style and goals.

Love the tutorial!!!

You are truly great at creating these instructional videos!! Thank you! I am having trouble figuring out . . 'the triggered email' . . it is not being sent to the user submitting the form, the form and the email to the admin works great. . Could you point me to where this might have already been addressed? or any other help? On a second note. .the submit button success/failure message will go back to the default message once it's connected to the data set(I couldn't figure that out either. )

Great Tutorial

Hi !

First of all, I want to thank you for your great tutorials, they helped us a lot with the coding.
But I still need your help, if you don't mind. I have based on Save Calculated Field using Wix Data Hooks Codes, to code my form . but the problem is I don't know why the code only reads the computation for "week2" computation and not the "weeks"

here is the code

I also did a separate column in the dataset where the chosen datas for both fields will be placed.

$w.onReady (() => {
$w("#Person").onChange(() => {
$w("#weeks").onChange(() => {
$w("#week2").onChange(() => {
let person = Number($w("#Person").value);
let weeks = Number($w("#weeks").value);
let week2 = Number($w("#week2").value);

$w("#totalLabel").show();

$w("#totalLabel").text = `"${String(weeks * Number(person))}페소"`; //DESIGN YOUR MESSAGE
$w("#totalLabel").text = `"${String(week2 * Number(person))}페소"`; //DESIGN YOUR MESSAGE

});
});
});

});

Hi there, thanks for your comment. I see why this is a problem. The onChange() function seems wrong in combination.

To combine onChangeFunctions use this method

$w("#Person, #weeks, #weeks2").onChange(() => {

//code here

});
