Wix Harmony vs Lovable: Which AI Website Builder Actually Builds Better Websites?

AI website builders are changing how quickly we can turn an idea into a real website. But there is a much bigger question: when two AI website builders receive the exact same prompt, which one actually produces the better website?

That is exactly what I tested for this Wix Ideas experiment.

I gave Wix Harmony and Lovable the exact same website idea, the exact same prompt, and no special treatment. Then I compared the results based on three things: speed, how closely the website matched the prompt, and the quality of the finished website. 

And the results were surprisingly close.

Wix Harmony vs Lovable: The Same Prompt, Two Very Different Results

For this Wix Ideas experiment, I wanted to make the comparison as fair as possible.

The idea was to create a premium football website called Sporty Gang. The website needed to feel like a modern, high-energy live sports platform with:

• A dark and visually striking design

• Bold typography

• Smooth animations

• Responsive layouts

• Live match information

• Upcoming matches

• League standings

• Football news

• Player spotlights

• Match momentum

• Fan predictions

• Realistic mock football data

• A mobile-friendly experience

Most importantly, I wanted the AI website builders to work from the same prompt rather than giving one platform more instructions than the other.

That made this less about opinions and more about seeing what each AI website builder could actually do.

Building the Website With Wix Harmony

The first test was Wix Harmony, Wix's newer AI-focused website editor.

For this test, I used Wix Harmony, not Wix Studio.

Wix Harmony combines AI-powered website creation with manual drag-and-drop editing, allowing you to move between prompting AI and making your own design changes. Wix's AI agent, Aria, can generate pages, sections, content and other website elements from natural-language instructions.

I pasted the Sporty Gang prompt directly into Wix Harmony and started the build.

The first thing I wanted to measure was speed.

Wix Harmony analyzed the prompt, created a plan and began building the website. The entire initial build took approximately five minutes.

That is incredibly fast considering how many sections and features were included in the prompt.

What Did Wix Harmony Build?

Wix Harmony successfully created several of the requested sections, including:

• Live matches

• Upcoming matches

• League standings

• Match momentum

• Football news

• Fan predictions

• Team information

• Additional statistics

However, it did miss some of the specific requirements from the prompt.

For example, the requested live match hero section wasn't included in the way I expected. There were also some inconsistencies with the football imagery, including American football imagery instead of the European football style I had in mind.

Still, the result was impressive considering that Wix Harmony had only been given the original prompt.

One thing I particularly liked was the hero section. The dark background, bold typography and positioning of the football imagery created a strong visual hierarchy.

The mobile version was also reasonably good, although there were some issues such as button labels wrapping and the league standings becoming harder to interpret on a smaller screen.

And this is where Wix Harmony becomes particularly interesting.

Wix describes Harmony as a hybrid editor, so you're not locked into whatever the AI initially creates. You can continue refining the website manually or use Aria to make additional changes.

Then I Gave Lovable the Exact Same Prompt

Next came Lovable.

No changes.

No additional instructions.

No extra context.

I simply pasted the same Sporty Gang prompt into Lovable and started the build.

This time, the build took around six minutes or more.

So, based purely on speed, Wix Harmony won this round.

But speed wasn't the only thing I was testing.

The real question was:

Which AI website builder understood my idea better?

Lovable Followed the Prompt More Closely

When I opened the website created by Lovable, the difference became much more obvious.

Lovable produced a more complex website structure and included several of the features I specifically asked for.

The hero section included a live score area, followed by live matches, countdown information, league standings and other interactive-looking elements.

The result also felt much closer to the original concept I had described.

For example, the Premier League-style standings were much closer to the type of football website I had envisioned.

Lovable also created additional visual interactions, including hover effects, scrolling elements and a marquee section.

There were still mistakes.

Just like Wix Harmony, Lovable sometimes interpreted "football" as American football, which wasn't what the prompt was asking for.

But overall, Lovable did a better job of reproducing the structure and functionality I had described.

Which AI Website Builder Was Faster?

This one was easy.

Winner: Wix Harmony

Wix Harmony built the website in under five minutes, while Lovable took around six minutes or more in my test.

That doesn't necessarily mean Wix Harmony will always be faster. Internet speed, prompt complexity and other factors can affect how long an AI website builder takes to generate a website.

But in this particular Wix Ideas test, Wix Harmony won the speed challenge.

Which AI Website Builder Followed the Prompt Better?

Winner: Lovable

This was where Lovable pulled ahead.

The website created by Lovable was closer to the original Sporty Gang concept. It included more of the requested functionality and produced a more complex overall structure.

For the second scoring category — how closely the final result matched the idea in the prompt — I gave the point to Lovable.

Which Website Looked Better?

This was probably the hardest category.

The answer depends heavily on the type of website you prefer.

I personally like clean websites where the information is easy to understand and the layout doesn't feel unnecessarily crowded.

Wix Harmony produced a more simplified design, while Lovable generated a more complex interface with additional components and visual interactions.

Ultimately, for this particular Sporty Gang website, Lovable won the final design category.

I especially liked the live score indicator and some of the scrolling and interactive elements in the Lovable version.

Wix Harmony vs Lovable: My Final Verdict

So, which AI website builder wins?

Here's how I scored this particular experiment:

The important thing is that this isn't necessarily a declaration that one platform is universally better than the other.

It was a real-world Wix Ideas test using one specific website concept and one specific prompt.

And that's what makes these AI website builder comparisons interesting.

Your results can change depending on your prompt, your design requirements and what you actually need your website to accomplish.

Why Wix Harmony Is Still Very Interesting

Even though Lovable produced my favorite result in this particular test, I think Wix Harmony is extremely impressive.

The biggest advantage is the combination of AI generation and hands-on website editing.

Wix Harmony isn't simply about telling AI what you want and accepting whatever it produces. Wix positions Harmony as a hybrid editor where you can prompt AI and then take precise manual control of the design.

That matters if you're building a real business website.

You might start with an AI-generated design, then change the typography, spacing, colors, sections, images and interactions until the website actually represents your brand.

Wix Harmony also has an AI Element Generator that can create custom editable elements from natural-language descriptions.

For someone who wants to build websites with Wix without starting everything from scratch, that workflow is very interesting.

Should You Use Wix Harmony, Lovable or Wix Studio?

That depends on what you're trying to build.

If you want to quickly turn an idea into a website using AI, Wix Harmony is worth exploring.

If you're looking for a highly customized development workflow, your needs may be different.

And if you're a designer or developer who wants more advanced control and uses tools such as Velo or custom code, Wix currently points developers toward Wix Studio or the Wix Editor, since Harmony doesn't support custom code in the same way.

Final Thoughts

The biggest takeaway from this Wix Ideas experiment isn't simply that Lovable beat Wix Harmony.

It's that AI website builders are becoming capable of turning relatively detailed ideas into functioning website designs in minutes.

In my test, Wix Harmony was faster, while Lovable produced a result that was closer to the original prompt and ultimately won my overall design test.

But this is only one test.

The next prompt could produce a completely different winner.
